Our Misson
Our program goes beyond just technique or playtime—it's a thoughtfully designed teaching method grounded in the belief that young children learn multiple skills simultaneously. In the early stages of development, music, speech, language, and social abilities blend naturally; they are not separate activities to children. Through notes, songs, instruments, patterns, structure, and participation, children engage holistically with the world around them.
We believe that early education is essential for every child’s development. Research shows that enriching educational activities during the preschool years enhance children’s ability to adapt and transition smoothly into future learning environments. At MG Music Studio, we nurture essential life skills such as student-teacher and peer-to-peer interaction, participation, self-discipline, attention, and self-awareness. Our approach fosters individuality while gently introducing rules, structure, and the importance of teamwork.
Our goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning and music, helping children grow through creativity, discipline, and joyful exploration.
Our Teachers
MELISSA GULDEN
Ladybug Music Director & Teacher
At an early age, Melissa showed a passion for music and theater. This transpired into her studying piano, voice, and theater at Clarke University where she received her BA in Music & Theatre. She continued to perform in various productions until she obtained her Master’s degree in Education. She spent 5 years as a high school English teacher in Minnesota.
In 2016, Melissa stumbled upon Ladybug Music which was only in California. She fell in love with the unique music. After weeks of playing the songs and dancing with her kids, she made a business plan and flew to California to meet with Ladybug creator, Patricia Margarita Maertens. Long story short, Ladybug Music MN was started in 2016.
This is Ladybug Music MN 6th year of being in business. We are elated to be able to help children and their parents have fun together as they discover the joy of music.
Melissa has 3 kids: Keira (9), Greyson (7), and Julien (18 months) and they love spending time outdoors and staying active. The kids share her joy of music and are always surprised that mom knows the lyrics and can sing pretty much every song from classics-to country-to hiphop. We’ll see how long that is “cool” 😉
